Ridgewood Capital Asset Management offers segregated portfolio management to First Nations, foundations, individuals and families with a minimum of $1 million of assets available for investment. The firm specializes in a growth style of management for its clients, favouring companies with strong management and long-term sustainable earnings.

Superior client service, as well as strong investment performance, distinguishes Ridgewood from other investment counselors. Each client’s financial situation and needs are carefully evaluated in terms of investment objectives, time horizons, income requirements, liquidity, tax efficiency and international exposure. Once this evaluation is completed and the client’s investment profile is established, an appropriate asset mix is developed and individual securities are selected. These securities could include bonds and growth equities from the Canadian, U.S. or international markets. This process is just the beginning of Ridgewood?s exemplary client service.

Ridgewood has a commitment to meet with each client at least twice per year. Ridgewood’s Client Service personnel are always available to answer questions between regular meetings. Each senior investment professional is responsible for a maximum of 80 to100 client/family relationships, ensuring that every client receives the personal attention they deserve.

In addition to regular meetings, Ridgewood clients receive a detailed quarterly report on their portfolio every quarter, which compares their portfolio’s performance against the markets in which they are invested.  An overview of the economy, interest rates and Ridgewood’s outlook for the markets is part of the portfolio review.

Ridgewood believes in building capacity within First Nations.  This is evidenced by making ourselves available for training members, Councils and Boards when we visit the community. In 2006, Ridgewood was instrumental in establishing the Beutel Ridgewood Rodgers Aboriginal Scholarship at the University Of Toronto Faculty Of Social Work.  We have recently established an additional scholarship as the sole sponsor, called the Ridgewood Aboriginal Scholarship, at the same institution.  We are proud to have been a supporter and partner member of NATOA since its inception and have written papers for the NATOA website as part of our commitment to the organization.
