Sharman has worked with the Federal Public Service for 28 years, and for the past 21 years with Indian and Northern Affairs (INAC) in various capacities. She has occupied her current position of Senior Negotiator for the past 11 years. During those years she has also acted in the position of Director, Negotiations Operations. Prior to becoming a negotiator, Sharman managed the Research Funding Division of INAC for 5 years. She is currently the federal negotiator on the Bigstone Cree Nation Treaty Land Entitlement claim. Some settlements she has either negotiated or was part of the negotiating team are:

Siksika Acreage Discrepancy Claims, Cold Lake First Nation Primrose Air Weapons Range, Horse Lake Surrender Claim, Loon River Cree Treaty Adhesion Claim, McLeod Lake Treaty Adhesion Claim, and the Manitoba Treaty Land Entitlement Framework Agreement.


Prior to her work with the Public Service, Sharman worked with the Bank of Nova Scotia and the University of Alberta.
