Live Entertainment byGerry “The Big Bear” Barrett

Gerry Barrett is "The Big Bear" Morning Show Host on NCI-FM. The Big Bear is an Ojibwe from the Saugeen First Nation in southern Ontario, who is currently living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Swept away by the sixties scoop, Gerry was adopted by Joseph and Phyllis Barrett of Grand Valley, Ontario. Gerry is an honours graduate from the Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, a three-year course in radio/television and film. He has worked with some of Canada's leading broadcasters.

As one of North America's favourite First Nations stand up comedians, you may have seen The Big Bear on The Comedy Network, APTN, or CBC television. He has showcased his comedy for NBC television in Hollywood.

In 2008, Gerry lived out a life-long dream and performed as Elvis onstage in Las Vegas at the Imperial Hotel and Casino. In 2004, The Big Bear made television history by performing on North America's first all Native American stand up comedy special, "Welcome to Turtle Island."

Gerry is also the voice of Bigfoot on the award-winning hit children's television show, "Tipi Tales".
